Women's Lacrosse Closes Regular Season with Loss to Westfield State

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's lacrosse team was defeated this afternoon 16-16 by Westfield State University in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Maple Street Field.

-Scores:  Westfield State 16, Framingham State 6 

-Records: Framingham State (8-8, 4-2), Westfield State (7-10, 5-1)

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • With the victory the Owls finish the regular season tied atop the MASCAC standings with Worcester State, while the Rams finish tied with Bridgewater State just a game behind. 

  • The Rams received two goals, two assists and two draw controls from Hailey Baker, while Leah Green finished the game with a goal, two assists and two ground balls. 

  • Isabella DiMare suffered the loss in net for the Rams but made nine saves. 

  • Westfield State got on the board first just under thirty seconds into the game, but the Rams used a Lye tally to tie the game with 13:44 on the clock. The Owls ratted off the next three goals of the game before Green found the back of the net sending the game to the second with the Owls leading 4-2. 

  • Westfield State tallied a pair of goals in the second period and kept the Rams off the board to lead 6-2 at the half. 

  • The Owls opened the third with three straights before Bosma scored, closing the gap to 9-3 midway through the quarter. The Rams closed the gap to 11-5 in the opening minutes of the fourth, but the Owls pushed the lead to 15-5 with four straight goals late in the fourth. 

  • Prior to the game, the Rams recognized the 2025 senior class – Baker, Green, Lanier, Kaleigh Houlihan and Maggie Grout – as part of Senior Day.
