Third Seed Women's Lacrosse Advances to MASCAC Semifinals with 21-6 Victory over Fitchburg State

Framingham, Mass. - The third seeded Framingham State University women's lacrosse team tallied ten second half goals and held the Falcons scoreless as the Rams defeated sixth seed Fitchburg State 21-6 in one quarterfinal of the 2025 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) women's lacrosse tournament at Maple Street Field.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • With the victory the Rams advance to the tournament semifinals on Thursday night at second seed Westfield State. 

  • The Rams were led on the offensive end by seven goals and an assist from Leah Green, while Hailey Baker added two goals and eight assists. 

  • Kelley DeBellis finished the game with three goals and an assist, while Alessia Lye tallied two markers and added three helpers. 

  • The Falcons got on the board first just under three minutes into the game, but the Rams rattled off five straight including a pair from Lanier to lead 5-1 with just under five to play. The Falcons cut the deficit to 5-2, but the Rams closed the period with goals from Kendzulak and Green to lead 7-2 after one. 

  • In the second the Rams scored two in a row to lead 9-2, but the Falcons used a 4-1 run to close the gap to 10-6 with four minutes to play before the half.  DeBellis tallied off a feed from Baker to close the quarter and give the Rams an 11-6 lead at the half. 

  • The Rams tallied seven goals in the third period and kept the Falcons off the board extending the lead to 18-6.

The Rams are back in action Thursday night when they travel to second seed Westfield State at 7 p.m. for one semifinal of the 2025 MASCAC women's lacrosse tournament.
