Roehr, Hogan Lead Rams Past UMass Dartmouth 5-1;; Wilkins Earns First Career Victory

Dartmouth, Mass. – Sophomore Natalia Roehr scored twice, while junior Finley Hogan added two goals and an assist as the Framingham State field hockey team opened the 2025 season with a 5-1 road victory at UMass Dartmouth Saturday afternoon. The win marked the first career victory for head coach Hannah Wilkins.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The Rams wasted little time getting on the board as Roehr converted a pass from Mikayla Malmquist and Hogan just five minutes into play.

  • The Corsairs responded in the 15th minute when Brooke Lydon scored unassisted to even the game at 1-1.

  • Framingham regained control in the second quarter, scoring twice in under a minute. Hogan tallied unassisted at the 26:23 mark before Marina Cadena followed with her first goal of the year to give the Rams a 3-1 halftime lead.

  • In the third, Roehr struck again, finishing a feed from Ashley Malmquist to extend the lead. Hogan capped her strong day in the 45th minute, finishing off a setup from Malmquist for the final margin.

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Roehr scored twice on four shots, while Hogan recorded two goals and one assist.

  • Mikayla Malmquist registered two assists, and Ashley Malmquist added one.

  • The Corsairs held a 27-19 advantage in total shots and an 18-4 edge in penalty corners, but Rams goalkeeper Kaitlyn Tello was outstanding with 15 saves in the win.

  • Framingham capitalized on its opportunities, scoring on five of 14 shots on goal.
