Worcester State Scores Three Late Goals, Downs Men's Ice Hockey 5-1
WORCESTER, Mass. – The Worcester State men's ice hockey team scored three goals in the final four minutes to break open a close game and defeat Framingham State 5-1 in MASCAC action Wednesday evening.

- Records: Worcester State (3-3-3, 1-2-2 MASCAC), Framingham State (5-5-0, 3-1-0 MASCAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- First Period: Both teams battled through a scoreless opening period despite Worcester State holding a commanding 16-5 shot advantage. The Rams killed off two penalties, including a late power play that carried over into the second period.
- Second Period: Matthew Nuzzolilo gave the Lancers a 1-0 lead just 35 seconds into the frame on a power-play goal. Sean Tyrie extended the advantage to 2-0 at 15:54, assisted by Michael Schaaf and Nathan McDougall.
- Third Period: Brock Forrest made it 3-0 early in the period at 2:42. Scott Bugarin brought the Rams back within striking distance with a goal at 15:22, but Worcester State answered quickly. Stirling Nash scored at 17:48 and Maximilian Hussar added another just 11 seconds later at 17:59 to seal the victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Owen Swanbon: Made 43 saves on 48 shots in a losing effort.
- Scott Bugarin: Scored Framingham State's lone goal and led the Rams with three shots. Won 13 of 26 faceoffs.
- Salvatore Carabelli: Stopped 20 of 21 shots to earn the win for Worcester State.
- Nathan Gines: Led the Rams with five shots on goal.
- Team Stats: Worcester State outshot Framingham State 48-21 and went 1-for-4 on the power play. The Rams failed to convert on eight power-play opportunities.
