Women's Lacrosse Comeback Falls Short at Plymouth State

Plymouth, N.H. - The Framingham State University women's lacrosse team rallied for four goals in the third quarter, but the Rams comeback fell short as they were defeated 14-10 by Plymouth State in non-conference action at Panther Field.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams were led by six goals, two ground balls and two draw controls from Leah Green. 

  • Alessia Lye filled the stat sheet with a goal and a team-best four assists, while Molly Lanier finished the game with two goals. 

  • Emma Kendzulak finished the day with a goal and an assist, while Hailey Baker tallied two helpers on the day. 

  • The Panthers held a 15-12 edge in draw controls for the game and 32-19 advantage in shots. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • Plymouth State jumped out to a 4-0 lead before Green struck for a pair of markers cutting the deficit to 4-2 with just over six to go in the first. Plymouth would add a pair of goals sandwiching another Green tally to lead 6-3 after one. 

  • In the second Plymouth tallied the first four goals of the frame pushing the lead to 10-3, but the Rams closed the half with back-to-back goals from Green to trail 10-5. 

  • The third period belonged to the Rams as they tallied four of the six goals in the frame and cut the deficit to 12-9 after three. 

  • Plymouth tallied the first two markers of the final stanza before Lanier added an unassisted tally to reach the final margin.
