Women's Lacrosse Falls to Eastern Connecticut 13-6

Mansfield, Conn. - The Framingham State University women's lacrosse team were defeated 13-6 by the Eastern Connecticut Warriors this afternoon in non-conference action at Rick McCarthy Field.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams received a goal and two assists from Hailey Baker in the game, while she added a ground ball. 

  • Kelley DeBellis, Madeline Bosma, Emma Kendzulak, Lily Malloy and Leah Green each tallied a single goal in the game. 

  • The Warriors held a 23-13 edge in ground balls in the game and a 13-7 advantage in draw controls. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • Eastern Connecticut jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first quarter before the Rams closed the frame with a free position goal from Baker and a man up tally from Bosma to trail 5-2 after one. 

  • Each team found the back of the net once in the second frame sending the Rams to the half trailing 6-3. 

  • The Rams struck first in the third on a tally from DeBellis, but Eastern Conn. Scored the final two of the frame to lead 8-4 after three. 

  • Eastern Conn. Extended the lead to 11-4 midway through the fourth in route to the non-conference victory.

The Rams are back in action next Monday when they face Colby-Sawyer in Panama City Beach, Florida.
