Women's Lacrosse Shoots Past Anna Maria 17-4

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's lacrosse team jumped out to an 11-1 lead after a quarter and never looked back as the Rams defeated Anna Maria College 17-4 this afternoon non-conference action at Maple Street Field.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams were paced on the attack by six goals and an assist from Leah Green, while Molly Lanier added two goals and three helpers. 

  • Emma Kendzulak and Maggie Grout each found the back of the net twice, while Hailey Baker chipped in with a goal and three assists. 

  • The Rams held a 17-8 edge in draw controls for the game and a 14-4 margin in ground balls.  The Rams took 30 shots in the game, while the Amcats attempted just nine. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • The Rams tallied a pair of goals in the games opening minutes from Lanier and Grout to lead 2-0. An Amcat tally cut the deficit to 2-1 with 12 minutes on the clock, but the Rams tallied the final eight goals of the period to open an 11-1 lead. 

  • The Rams extended the lead with three tallies in the second quarter and led 14-1 at the half.
