Volleyball Advances to MASCAC Championship After Five Set Thriller at Westfield
Framingham, Mass. – The third-seeded Framingham State Rams secured a thrilling five-set victory over the second-seeded Westfield State Owls in the MASCAC semifinal match, earning their spot in the championship game.

  • Score: Framingham State 3, Westfield State 2 (25-19, 19-25, 25-18, 21-25, 15-13)

  • Records: Framingham State (18-12, 6-2 MASCAC), Westfield State (15-11, 7-1 MASCAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED: 
  • The match was a nail-biter from start to finish, with both teams trading sets in a back-and-forth battle. The Rams took the first set 25-19, but the Owls responded by winning the second set 25-19.
  • Framingham State regained the lead with a 25-18 victory in the third set, only for Westfield State to force a decisive fifth set by taking the fourth 25-21.
  • The final set was a tense battle. The Rams took an early lead, but the Owls fought back to tie the score at 12-12. A crucial block by Jamie Moniz and a kill by Reynolds gave the Rams a 14-13 lead and a Rams block ended a long rally to seal the victory.

The Rams will advance to the MASCAC Championship game on Saturday, where they will face the top-seeded Bridgewater State Bears. The match is set to take place at Bridgewater State, with the winner claiming the conference title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
