16 Rams Named to Spring 2010 MASCAC All-Academic Team
Buzzards Bay, Mass. — Nearly 340 student-athletes,
including 16 student-athletes from Framingham State College, have
been honored by the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference
(MASCAC) with selection to the league’s Spring 2010
All-Academic Team as announced by MASCAC Commissioner Angela
Baumann this morning.
Women’s lacrosse led the way for the Rams with eight
student-athletes honored, while softball placed five and baseball
placed three on the All-Academic team.
Honorees from the 2010 women’s lacrosse team include
seniors Ashley Noonan (Psychology) and Rebecca L’Ecuyer
(Political Science), junior Stephanie Corrales (Business
Administration), sophomore Jenna Plane (Nutrition), and freshmen
Jacquelyn Dupuis (English), Brittany McLean (Nutrition), Chelsea
Temple (Nutrition) and Elizabeth Zaino (Undeclared).
Softball honorees include senior Megan Dumas (Psychology),
juniors Kasey Phipps (Elementary Education) and Kelly Reardon
(Nutrition), sophomore Kristyna Smith (Psychology) and freshman
Taylor Ezold (Mathematics).
Senior Marc Massarotti (Business Administration), junior Steven
Tramontozzi (Business Administration) and sophomore Rob McLaughlin
(Health & Consumer Sciences) qualified for the All-Academic
Team from the baseball team.
Student-athletes that compete in championship varsity sports
offered by each of the nine MASCAC institutions during the course
of the recently completed spring sports season and have achieved a
3.20 cumulative or semester-based grade point average during the
most recent academic semester are eligible for selection to the
Spring All-Academic Team.
In its 39th year of existence, the Massachusetts
State College Athletic Conference is comprised of eight NCAA
Division III member institutions: Bridgewater State College,
Fitchburg State College, Framingham State College, MCLA,
Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State College, Westfield
State College and Worcester State College. Two other NCAA Division
III member schools, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and
Plymouth State University, are affiliate members of the conference
in the sport of men’s ice hockey.
