Volleyball Selected to Finish Second in 2024 MASCAC Preseason Poll
Framingham, Mass. – Reigning MASCAC Tournament champion Framingham State University volleyball team has been selected to finish second in the 2024 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Volleyball Preseason Poll in voting conducted by the league's coaches and announced by the league office this morning.
The Rams secured the second spot by receiving 41 total points and four of the eight first place votes. Westfield State claimed the top spot by securing the remaining four first place votes and 45 total points.
The Rams finished the 2023 season 21-11 overall and 4-3 in MASCAC play. Returning for the Rams is Natalie Reynolds who earned All-MASCAC honors and was selected the 2023 MASCAC Rookie of the Yera. Reynolds recorded 282 kills (2.54 per set), with a .302 hitting percentage. She added 59 blocks and 43 service aces which all ranked in the top ten in the MASCAC.
MCLA was selected to finish third in the poll with 39 points and Worcester State followed in fourth with 35 points. Bridgewater State claimed the fifth spot with 23 points, while Fitchburg State (18 points), Salem State (16 points) and Massachusetts Maritime (7 points) rounded out the poll in sixth, seventh and eighth.
The Rams open the 2024 season on Friday, August 30that Johnson and Wales at 7 p.m.
