Men's Ice Hockey Drops Season Opener in Overtime at SNHU

HOOKSETT, N.H. – On Saturday evening, the Framingham State Rams faced off against the Southern New Hampshire Penmen in a closely contested hockey game that ended in a 4-3 overtime loss for the Rams. The game took place at the Ice Den Arena in Hooksett, New Hampshire.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

• The Rams opened the scoring in the second period with a goal from Jerry Duckett, assisted by Michael Kennedy. 

• Southern New Hampshire responded with two goals in the second period, taking a 2-1 lead into the third. 

• Nathan Gines tied the game for the Rams early in the third period with a power-play goal, assisted by Jonas Oesterle. 

• The Penmen regained the lead midway through the third period, but Brent Scott quickly equalized for the Rams, sending the game into overtime. 

• In the overtime period, Ryan Kayser scored the game-winning goal for Southern New Hampshire, assisted by Brendan Lynch.
