Men’s Ice Hockey Dominates UMass Dartmouth in Home Opener

FRAMINGHAM, MASS – The Framingham State Rams men's ice hockey team secured a commanding 5-0 victory over the UMass.-Dartmouth Corsairs in their home opener Thursday evening at Loring Arena.  

THE BASICS: 

• Score: Framingham State 5, Mass.-Dartmouth 0 

• Records: Framingham State (1-1-0), Mass.-Dartmouth (1-2-0) 

• Location: Framingham, MA – Loring Arena 

First Period: 

• Connor McLachlan opened the scoring for the Rams at 5:54, assisted by Nathan Gines and Jonas Oesterle. 

Second Period: 

• Robert Bernier extended the lead just 33 seconds into the period, with assists from Anthony Venezia and Jonas Oesterle. 

• Jake Barcelou added an unassisted goal at 2:01. 

• Connor McLachlan scored his second goal of the game short-handed at 2:46, assisted by Scott Bugarin and Robert Bernier. 

Third Period: 

• Michael Kennedy sealed the victory with an unassisted goal at 17:37. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

• Framingham State was outshot by UMass.-Dartmouth 38-25. 

• The Rams were efficient on the power play, converting 1 of 2 opportunities. 

• Framingham State's goalie, Owen Swanbon, recorded a shutout with 38 saves. 

• Mass.-Dartmouth's goalies, Marshall McKallip and Graham Burke, combined for 20 saves.
