Unbeaten Albertus Magnus Downs Rams, 6-4

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Molly Martin scored twice and undefeated Albertus Magnus built a four-goal lead before holding off Framingham State 6-4 in non-conference action Friday afternoon.

THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • First Period: Albertus Magnus jumped out to an early lead with Martin opening the scoring at 4:18. Kalyn Reynolds added a power-play goal at 7:33, and Gabriella Dellacroce made it 3-0 at 12:07. Ruby Boucher cut into the deficit with a power-play goal at 18:06 to make it 3-1 after one period.
  • Second Period: Sarah Lewis brought the Rams within one at 4:50, assisted by Rose Brien. Petra Cernicek tied the game at 3-3 with a goal at 12:29, but Blayne Dussold restored the Falcons' lead just 1:30 later to send Albertus Magnus into intermission up 4-3.
  • Third Period: Martin struck again at 14:32 to extend the lead to 5-3. Tori Walsh added a power-play goal at 16:35 to push the advantage to 6-3. Sophie Brien scored in the final minute at 18:55, but it was too little too late for the Rams.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
