Volleyball Opens MASCAC Play with Thrilling Five Set Victory over Worcester State

Framingham, Mass. - The Framingham State University volleyball team battled Worcester State tonight in hard fought match pulling out a 3-2 victory in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action this evening at Logan Gymnasium.   

THE BASICS: 

- Scores:  Framingham State 3, Worcester State 2 (25-27, 25-23, 23-25, 25-23, 15-11) 

- Records: Framingham State (8-3, 1-0 MASCAC), Worcester State (3-11, 0-1 MASCAC) 

- Location: Logan Gymnasium – Framingham, Mass.  

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams fell 27-25 in the opening set before taking the second 25-23. Worcester answered taking the third set 25-23 and the Rams countered pulling out the fourth 25-23 and forcing a fifth and deciding set. 

  • After falling behind 2-0 in the fifth, the Rams tallied four straight points taking the lead for good. The Rams led by as many as five before taking the set 15-11. 

  • The Rams were led on the attack by 19 kills from Natalie Reynolds who added three blocks and a dig in the game. 

  • Stella Bailey finished the night with 48 set assists, four aces and 20 digs, while Emma Dobbins added seven kills and five digs.

The Rams are back in action on Thursday when they travel to Rivier at 7 p.m.
