Roger Williams Tops Men's Ice Hockey; 6-3

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – Roger Williams scored six goals, including two on the power play, to pull away from Framingham State 6-3 in non-conference action Friday evening at Framingham.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • First Period: The teams traded goals throughout the opening frame. Christian Worrell gave Roger Williams a 1-0 lead at 9:59, and Jacob Kettwig extended it to 2-0 at 12:04. The Rams responded with power-play goals from Michael Kennedy at 16:36 and Jake Barcelou at 19:55 to tie the game 2-2 heading into intermission.
  • Second Period: TJ Sullivan restored the Hawks' lead at 1:25, assisted by JJ Alger and Jason Tynan. The Rams were shorthanded for much of the period after Aidan Elbrecht was assessed a five-minute major at 4:27. Despite multiple power-play opportunities for both teams, the score remained 3-2 in favor of Roger Williams.
  • Third Period: Gabe Reis gave the Hawks breathing room with a power-play goal just 1:39 into the period. Jonas Oesterle cut the deficit to 4-3 at 8:10, but Colin Kwak and Aidan Radic scored late goals to seal the victory for Roger Williams.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • TJ Sullivan: Scored a goal and led Roger Williams with six shots on goal.
  • Jonas Oesterle: Scored a goal and led the Rams with five shots.
  • Jacob Jaslow: Stopped 30 of 33 shots to earn the win for the Hawks.
  • Team Stats: Roger Williams outshot Framingham State 40-33 and converted 2-of-6 power-play opportunities. The Rams went 2-for-6 on the power play but played much of the game shorthanded.
